RSPB Coombes Valley
Nature Reserve
With spectacular views over the surrounding countryside your accommodation adjoins the RSPB Coombes Valley Nature Reserve, it is a location full of opportunities for walkers and nature lovers It also offers facilities for cycling and if climbing or horse riding appeal then you will be pleased.
Rudyard Lake
The lovely Rudyard Lake is situated near Leek and has been a favourite beauty spot for visiting families and couples for over 200 years. The lake is surrounded by lush woodland with beautiful walks that take you around the lake which are quite gentle even for the younger members of the family. Rudyard Lake is the perfect spot for a picnic, some tranquil fishing, sailing or afternoon out with the family.
There is always something to do including rowing boat hire, boat trips up the lake or a narrow-gauge steam train ride from the old Rudyard Lake Railway Station up to the dam head.
Refreshments can be purchased from the Rudyard Lake Cafe or, you can take your own food and have a picnic with the whole of the family, Parking is available at the Dam Head and is pay and display.
Staffordshire Moorlands
A truly beautiful heritage railway deep in the heart of Staffordshire Moorlands. Enjoy a 10.5 mile return steam train ride between Cheddleton and Froghall, incorporating the splendour of Consall Forge and the Churnet Valley. Special events include 1940’s weekend, Santa and Steam throughout December and Hallowe’en special.
Peak District
The spectacular Staffordshire Peak District set in the Peak District National Park has fantastic outdoor adventure for everyone. From great climbing on the Roaches to cycling in the picturesque Manifold Valley; canoeing on beautiful Tittesworth Reservoir to walking in lovely Dovedale, there are plenty of outdoor activities for all skill levels.

The characterful, historic market town of Leek lies at the heart of the Staffordshire Peak District.

Leek is a lovely town to explore. The unspoilt town centre offers some unique speciality shops, antique centres and weekly markets on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
